Construction
Plastic
is a fantastic material: with out it we would not have great performing
boots, ski pole baskets, and large jugs of milk. However, when used
in the wrong application, it can spell disaster. A telemark binding
is a huge concentration point of force and thus not a good place to
rely on plastic, especially under cold conditions.
The Bomber Bishop uses high-grade aluminum and stainless steel in the construction of the binding. This makes for a strong and safe telemark binding. There are no welds or rivets to crack. Also, no-cost accountants were involved in the final design, so you can be sure this is a product of sound and well thought out engineering.
All the pivot points of the Bishop use composite bearings, just like
the ones the mountain bike industry has been using for years on suspension
bikes. The main body of the Bishop is elegantly laser engraved, so as
you start to look like Keith Richards from the Rolling Stones, this
baby will shine for years to come.
