Telemark Insert Pattern

Finally! Snowboarders have been doing this for over 15 years and now the telemark industry has caught on to a good thing. Ski manufacturers are now making their line of telemark skis with threaded inserts. A threaded insert gives you the ability to mount a binding in 2 minutes with basic hand tools. Also, you can move that binding position on the ski or even just move the entire binding to another ski with little effort. A threaded insert is also 3 times the strength of a standard ski screw.
Because the Bishops use a Sub-plate Mount the Bishop is compatible with the new insert standard. We added to our system two sets of mounting holes for mounting to the ski: a set for the factory position and a second set for 2.7cm in front of the factory position. That coupled with the Bishops ability to move 1cm more forward can give you a total of 3.7cm in front of the factory position. We consider this the future of telemark skiing, plan to support it fully, and hope more ski manufacturers adopt this standard.
